Review of the Oschersleben PreSeason Test

Impressive performance in the GT4 Germany pre-season test in Oschersleben.

The drivers and teams from the ADAC GT4 Germany had a total of eight hours to prepare for the 2025 season at the official test day in Oschersleben. For ME Motorsport, regular drivers Philip Wiskirch/Tim Reiter (#66) and Linus Hahne/Thomas Rackl (#77) climbed into the cockpits of the two BMW M4 GT4 Evo from the team from Schwäbisch Gmünd and used the valuable day extensively to prepare for the season.

ME Motorsport completed a total of 212 laps or around 777 kilometers during the test day on the technically demanding track in the Magdeburger Börde. The team led by Markus Eichele was able to collect important data for the upcoming season. This year, the ADAC GT4 Germany uses a new generation of tires, the Pirelli P Zero DHG, which is certified using natural rubber Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In addition, a new climate-friendly and synthetic fuel is being used for the first time.

During the test drives three weeks before the start of the season, the Swabian team was convincing! Tim Reiter set the fastest lap time in the afternoon session, which was the third-fastest time overall on the entire test day. “It's really great to be right at the front. Oschersleben seems to suit me because I took pole position here at the race weekend last year,” explains Reiter, who is joining ME Motorsport for the 2025 season. “We tried out a lot on the test day, for example during the set-up. In the end, we were very satisfied with the work done, everything worked well. We are therefore going into the new season in a positive mood. ”

With a minimum gap of just 0.002 seconds, series newcomer Linus Hahne followed in fourth place in the daily standings in the team's second BMW. The Ostwestfale initially set the third-fastest lap in the morning session. “I've already traveled to Oschersleben quite confidently — and I'm really satisfied with the test day in the end. We worked hard today and made good progress,” explains ADAC Stiftung Sports Sponsorship Pilot Thomas Rackl, who shares the car with Linus Hahne.

“A very positive test day in Oschersleben is behind us. We were able to make good use of the day to get to know the new tires and the new fuel, and it was also important for us to gain further experience with the BMW M4 GT4,” explains team boss Markus Eichele. “In the eight hours of testing, we have found a good set-up for our vehicles and are starting the ADAC GT4 Germany season with a clear conscience. Our goal is for us to be the best BMW team in the field over the course of the season and to be able to fight for top results over the six race weekends! ”

The ADAC GT4 Germany season kicks off in three weeks at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The race series is contesting a total of six race weekends as part of the DTM supporting program. The highlight of the season is the second race weekend in July at the Norisring. The home game of ME Motorsport in Hockenheim takes place on the first weekend in October and is also the season finale of the German GT4 championship.
